"Audi", like the first part of audio,

no... several people I've met, mainly from other countries like Scotland, UK, etc. I hear it pronounced differently from various people... so I was wondering if I was pronouncing it wrong, since I don't know German... much like Heckler & Koch is pronounced wrong, they have an audio clip to correct people (i.e. its "coke", not "kotch")

I tend to go with what they pay their advertising company to say. But that's just me.

apparently google returns several results, and this question has been asked before...

seems many have differing opinions, from ow-dee, ah-dee, to ah-u-dee... and even howdy...

kbb has a common mispronunciation page, and says its "ow-dee" not "ah-dee", but are they correct? seems like it doesn't match the wikipedia phonetics /aˈʊdi/ (unless I am translating it wrong, or unless they are wrong too).

Audi's brand name history begins with a man called August Horch. In 1909, Mr. Horch founded his second company called Audi. "Audi" is the Latin translation for "Horch" and he wanted to build cars under his own name. So the brand "AUDI Automobilwerke GmbH" was registered in 1910.
